WP SmartPay Pro integrates with LearnDash, LifterLMS, and Tutor LMS so course enrollments follow payment status automatically — students gain access immediately after payment and lose it if a subscription is cancelled or a payment fails.
Supported LMS Platforms
- LearnDash — Groups and Courses
- LifterLMS — Memberships and Courses
- Tutor LMS — Courses and Bundles
LearnDash Integration
Setup
- Go to SmartPay → Extensions → LearnDash → Settings and activate the integration.
- In LearnDash, create a Group that contains the courses you want to sell.
- In SmartPay, open each payment form and go to the Integrations tab.
- Under LearnDash, select the Group to enroll the buyer into.
- Save the form.
How Access Is Managed
| Event | LearnDash action |
|---|---|
| One-time payment completed | User added to Group (permanent access) |
| Subscription created | User added to Group |
| Subscription renewed | Access continues (no change needed) |
| Subscription cancelled | User removed from Group |
| Subscription payment failed | User removed from Group (Failing status) |
| Refund issued | User removed from Group |
LifterLMS Integration
Setup
- Go to SmartPay → Extensions → LifterLMS → Settings and activate.
- In LifterLMS, create a Membership that includes your courses.
- In each SmartPay payment form, under the Integrations tab, select the LifterLMS Membership to grant.
- Save.
For one-time product purchases (not memberships), you can link directly to a LifterLMS Course instead of a Membership.
Tutor LMS Integration
Setup
- Go to SmartPay → Extensions → Tutor LMS → Settings and activate.
- In each SmartPay payment form, under the Integrations tab, select the Tutor LMS Course to enroll the buyer in.
- Save.
Tutor LMS enrollments are per-course. If you want to sell access to multiple courses, either use a Tutor LMS Bundle or add multiple SmartPay–Tutor LMS mappings on the same form.
Selling Multiple Courses in One Purchase
If you want one payment to unlock multiple courses:
- LearnDash: Add all courses to a single Group and map the form to that Group.
- LifterLMS: Create a Membership that includes all courses and map the form to that Membership.
- Tutor LMS: Use a Tutor LMS Bundle and map the form to the Bundle.
Troubleshooting
- Student enrolled but can't access course: In LearnDash, confirm the course is inside the Group you mapped. In LifterLMS, confirm the course is inside the Membership.
- Access not revoked after cancellation: Verify the subscription form has the LMS integration configured (not just the Extensions global setting). Also check that the gateway is sending webhook events — SmartPay needs the
subscription.cancelledwebhook to fire the access revocation. - User not enrolled after test payment: Confirm Test Mode is on and the test payment status is Completed (not Pending) before checking enrollment.
